Brian’s interest in urban design and historic preservation has been a constant throughout his life. He is chairperson of Winslow Arizona’s Historic Preservation Commission and part-time Zoning Hearing Officer with the City of Winslow. Brian’s early college work focused on City and Regional Planning and Architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a brief stint at Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). In 2024, Brian enrolled in Cal Poly Humboldt’s Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Leadership program and followed it with a Master’s Degree in Anthropology focused on Urban Archeology from Cal Poly Humboldt, where he was also a teaching assistant. He retired in 2019 from a thirty-year career he loved, managing BMW and Harley-Davidson dealerships.

Brian is an accredited New Urbanist through the University of Miami and the Congress for the New Urbanism.

In 2025, Brian completed a certificate program through Cornell University on Sustainable Historic Preservation.
